The UK Dairy Science program recognizes Brad Kelly. Brad is from Oakdale, Minnesota. He studied Biology at the University of Minnesota, where he got to help with research projects in a range of areas varying from heart surgery to marine biology. Within animal research, Brad was always most interested in how animal welfare can be positively influenced by using knowledge about their behaviors and how management practices can be improved to create better environments for the animals, as well as the people who work with them. Brad joined Dr. Costa’s lab at UK in the spring of 2021 as a master’s student, and his research focuses on public perceptions toward precision dairy technologies as well as their implications for animal welfare.
