  • Lower fiber content than traditional alfalfa hay.
  • Limited use in monogastric diets (sometimes used as a laxative in prefarrowing sow diets).
  • Often pelleted prior to feeding.

  • Crude Protein = 17-20%
  • Lysine = 0.7-0.9%
  • Ruminant TDN = 57%
  • Monogastric ME = 1000 Kcal/lb
Physical Description - varies from light to dark green, small particle size, and a granulary to powdery texture.
